Edward Gene Morgan

Mr. Morgan was a field engineer for the Bendix Field Engineering Co. in Owings Mills MD. He and a co-worker (passenger Swank) were traveling to Indianapolis for a business conference.

Born in Paterson NJ, Mr. Morgan had been employed by Bendix 11 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and enjoyed motorcycle riding.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the crash, we had the privilege of meeting one of Mr. Morgan's daughters. She shared with us the fact that her father had been heavily involved with NASA as a tracker for the Gemini and Apollo space programs, and he had been acknowledged for his critical work on both the Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 missions. His work in a direct supporting role with these two missions established him as a pioneer in the history of space flight for our country, and his contributions were highly regarded.

He left behind his wife, Sharon, and young children Russell, Stanley, Howard, Cindy, Tammy, and Terry.
